How to identify genetic causes of obesity and related syndromes. Understanding the role of the MC4R pathway in monogenic obesity and Bardet-Biedl syndrome.

In this webinar, Professor Sadaf Farooqi and Professor Phil Beales explore the role of the melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R)pathway in hyperphagia and early-onset severe obesity, with a particular focus on Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS).

During this session, speakers discuss how to recognise the clinical features of BBS, the real-life impact of hyperphagia and early-onset, severe obesity on patients and their caregivers, and how implementing a multi-disciplinary approach can support successful management of patients living with BBS.
